The M8600 liquid level float switch has a stainless steel stem and a polypropylene float. This is a durable alternative to the M8800, where a more rigid stem is required to protect the float switch stem from turbulence, aggressive cleaning or other difficult float switch applications. It is also a great option for steamers or food equipment applications up to 221˚F (105°C). This float switch is a good choice for commercial appliances and equipment.
Note: SPST = Single Pole, Single Throw Float Switch Operation
Madison Company uses only polypropylene that is FDA-approved for food contact in these float switches. Polypropylene and stainless steel are great choices for chemical resistance in DI-water, salt water or mild acids.
Switches are rated for resistive loads. See our Electrical Considerations for UL guidelines for current (Amperes resistive) at different voltages.
