This sensor is designed for aggressive environments, capable of withstanding high and low temperatures and mechanical shock. These liquid sensors provide a low power signal, making these optical sensors ideal for microcontrollers, when needing to detect the absence or presence of clean, non-coating liquids. An infrared LED and phototransistor ensures dependable optical coupling when the sensor is in air to eliminate false readings. When the sensor tip is immersed in liquid, the phototransistor will switch the output state.
